Have you ever had an idea that just wouldn't leave you alone? That's how it started for me, about 12 months ago. The concept of starting my own clothing brand kept nagging at me, refusing to be ignored. So, I took the plunge.
What's in a Name?
The first hurdle was coming up with a brand name and logo. It may sound simple, but trust me, it's not. It took time and countless brainstorming sessions to finally settle on Sportivo Cygnium, but it did feel good.
From Idea to Reality
Once the branding was sorted, the next step was finding manufacturers to bring my designs to life. This process took a few months of research, emails, and negotiations. It was a tedious but necessary part of the journey.
Taking the Leap
After much contemplation, I made the decision to dive in and give it a shot. Dealing with clothing designers was a whole new ball game. I had to learn to ask the right questions, be prepared to make mistakes, and most importantly, stay resilient.
The Thrill of the First Samples
When the first samples finally arrived, it was a moment of pure joy and excitement. Seeing your ideas come to life in physical form is an indescribable feeling. However, it was also a stark reminder of the hard work and dedication required to make this dream a reality.
Starting a clothing brand is not for the faint of heart. It's a rollercoaster ride of emotions, challenges, and triumphs. But for me, every hurdle, every setback, and every small success so far has been worth it. The journey may be tough, but the destination could be rewarding in the future.
The Bulk Order finally arriving
That's where i found myself now, in December 2025. The boxes of clothing finally turned up, the flat with boxes everywhere ad not knowing where to start. The buzz of the orders pinging through on your phone over the first weekend & the scratching your head moments due to Royal Mail deliveries. It will give you some sleepless nights that's for sure, but what doesn't?
All that hard work to get to 'Day 1' and it's far to early to say its been a success or worth it, i'll have to keep going for a while yet before i can answer that.
